To aggravate the tragedy, majority of those who dream to become an entreprenuer possess the same psyche.
All appreciate entrepreneuership even though the majority of those who appreciate it never understand properly what the concept you propose is, what all possibilitites you have with the concept and infact what entreprenuership is.
People have a belief that once you have a great idea, some one would come to invest in your business. It might be true that an idea can change your life, but we can assure you that an idea alone could never change your life in positive way. Infact it could even take you down the slope by wasting your time, if you have just an IDEA or IDEAS.
A few facts which we know is not just another futile repitition of what others say/believe
If you wish to be entreprenuer, first you must be convinced about the viability of your concept. Those who wish to sell a novel IDEA, how ever appealing it is, would never get any investor, unless that investor is his friend/relative. If someone else has invested, it is purely by chance and the prospects of that business would also be decided by luck. If an entreprenuer has put no money of his own into his idea, that is a clear pointer regarding his lack of confidence in the concept. So, we recommend those who dream to be entreprenuers, who have just a concept and have not invested any money into their own concept, not to waste time by running behind investors. The best thing that would suit their thought line would be to join a company and work for it. ONly those who have invested their own money, how ever small, could become sucessful entrepreneurs.There is no free Learning in entrepreneurship.If you have invested your money then you always have a better chance to win or atleast get investors.
Believe in your gut feel when you take decisions. There is nothing called a logical decision for human beings and for entreprenuers in particular. All decisions are basically emotional. You may have to meet so many people who would be working for or managing big companies, who are not successful entrepreneurs. They walk through the roads which were made by some one else. Hence they may tell you certain words like ‘analysing the viability of your concept’ and they strongly speak about ‘meetings’ so as to take ‘logical decisions’. They may not know what analysis is nor what viability is. Don’t lose your temper when you meet them. There are so many people in this world who think in a way that is different from that of a real entreprenuer. We can tell you atleast 10 examples where entreprenuers made a decision which contradicted the market survey results and went successful. The science behind it could be easily understood if you go through any book of social psychology.
Do only those things about which you really believe as something which must be done by you. Entrust others to do the remaining parts of the work and pay them a little more than what they deserve. Have a clear picture regarding division of work and the corresponding division of profit, before you start the project. The shares of profit must be in proportion with the monetary risk if it is a start up. No concept has any kind of relevance (in business) unless it produces gains (mainly materialistic) for all those who have associated with it.
The last word- Becoming an entrepreneur is not the last thing one has to do in the human living. There are many other things, which can be called as explorations, that we can, and have to, do. So a failure doesn’t mean anything other than that the destiny has kept something more interesting for you to do other than entrepreneurship.
